The Tangsa people are one of the major tribes in Arunachal Pradesh. There are more than 17 sub-tribes in the Tangsa tribe. The Tikhak is a member of one of its sub-groups. The Tikhaks are residents of Changlang province, Arunachal Pradesh.

The Tikhak are thought to have arrived in Assam, India, at the start of the 14th century after the Ahoms entered Assam. They have a strong culture and customs. Their dances, such as Ongle Tam, Bongtom, and Rung Wang, are traditional forms. Traditional songs include Bayangsai and Rung.

The National Park of Namdapha is located in the Indo-Myanmar border and Pangsau Pass, while the Indo-Burmese border (India) can be found near Meghalaya state. The nearest rail station is Ledo, which is accessible via Margherita, Tinsukia district, Assam.
