Oru Cantado is the Bata song cycle related to Bata drums. This is Adrian Coburg’s transcription book of song scores in the manner of call and response to celebrate religious ceremonies. His collection contains 20 Tratados originally from ethnic sources such as Yoruba and Arara. These are arrangements in form of a special song cycle to invite and welcome the Orishas. The transcription includes small musical annotations and short instructions for Bata drums. Tratado is a chosen order of songs to tell a specific story. This collection opens with Elegua and ends with Oddua.
